Rinca Island is one of the three largest islands that comprise the UNESCO-recognized Komodo National Park in Indonesia. Apart from the largest and most famous three, Rinca, Padar, and Komodo, there are 26 more islands that complete this National Park. What makes this illustrious archipelago unique and mesmerizing to visitors, is its world-famous animal — the Komodo dragon.

The Komodo dragon is the largest lizard in the world and an indigenous species to this group of islands in the Indian Ocean. Although not all the islands within the Komodo National Park are home to this creature, the mighty Komodo dragon reigns as king on Rinca Island.

Kakum is the first national park in Ghana created by local initiative as opposed to that created by the State Agency responsible for Wildlife. The prominent landscape of the park is tropical forest accounting for 90% of the park landscape.  It is one of three places in Africa that features a canopy walk through the trees.  It covers a distance of 1,150 feet (350 m) while connecting through seven different trees.

The elevation of the park varies from 443 feet (135 m) to 820 feet (250 m) with moist evergreen making up the majority of the forested area.  Although moist forest accounts for the majority of woodlands, there is also swamp forests, riverine forest, and Boval vegetation.

Wildlife includes buffalo, forest elephants, civet, Colobus monkeys, red river hog, giant forest hog, pangolin, dwarf crocodile, and the North Africa crested porcupine.  Who knows which you will see as you take the guided treks along the jungle floor or the canopy walkway up in the trees.  The tropical rainforest invites exploration and the elevated canopy trail provides a bird's-eye view and better chance to discover some of the wildlife below.

Jalsu pass is one of the oldest routes connecting Kangra and Chamba. Gaddi Shepherds have used this pass from centuries to travel between the plains of Kangra and their homeland, Chamba (Gadheran).

The trail is well marked as it is still used as a pilgrimage road to Manimahesh Kailas. The best season to travel is between April to September, especially before the monsoons when the valley starts to blossom with a variety of flowers to live up to its name of “Flower Valley Of Himachal”.

There are ancient temples and beautiful green pastures, serene meadows and a wide variety of flora and fauna. The villages and the breathtaking scenery are the highlights of the trek. This is one of the best treks in the region to bring avid trekkers face-to-face with the glistening lofty peaks of the mighty Himalayas.

Crafted by the hand of Gods, Kerala is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Its sobriquet of God's Own Country is well deserved. The entire expanse of Kerala is blessed with beauty, unmissable attractions and some of the most scenic places to visit. Synonymous with coconut trees lined adorning the village further, Kovalam fondly is also known as the “grove of coconut trees”. Much more than beaches, Kovalam has its charm even in the lighthouses that haunt you and remind you of the great times ahead.

Tamil Nadu's long and beautiful coastline isn't the only gift nature has bestowed on this southern state. ... Be it the Anamalai Hills, which reign as South India's tallest, or the great railways of Nilgiris, the Western Ghats of Tamil Nadu make the state a destination worth visiting.

Kenya's most popular safari destination is the Maasai Mara National Reserve. This is where the BBC's Big Cat Diary was filmed, and there is nowhere better for close encounters with lions, cheetahs and leopards. Travel between July and October to see the wildebeest migration, the greatest wildlife show on earth.

The south coast of Kenya has a far more rustic appeal in comparison to Nyali or the other suburb beaches that are located immediately north of the Mombasa. This can be largely attributed to the logistical dislocation from the island-bound city which is connected by the steady but slow Likoni ferry service and not the road bridge. South of Mombasa run a series of small, privately owned and managed lodges, set on quiet coves, away from the general melee of the more well known beaches. A few of the less known, but truly fantastic lodges along this coast, between Mombasa and Diani, are Msambweni House and Kinondo Kwetu... both being ideal for either families or honeymooners. Other than these, Diani beach is in a similar vein to that of Watamu... an absolutely stunning, white beach running along the coast for as far as the eye can see with perfect blue waters. Again, this areas is also a good place to base yourself if you are a keen fisherman and, with restaurants such as the Forty Thieves nearby, Diani is a really good option for those looking for a little more than just a beach.

Virunga National Park is Africa’s most biodiverse protected area, home to over one thousand species of mammal, bird, reptile, and amphibian as well as 1/3 of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas. Located on the eastern edge of the Congo Basin, the world’s second-largest tropical rainforest, Virunga has become known as the park of fire and ice for its diverse habitats ranging from the Rwenzori peaks to savanna and volcanic plains. Despite being a UNESCO world heritage site, Virunga is constantly threatened by war, poaching and illegal activities as well as unpreventable natural disasters.

Statue Of Unity has been built as an ode to the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first home minister of independent India. He was responsible for uniting all 562 princely states of the country to build the Republic of India.

October 31st, 2018, marked the inauguration of the world’s tallest statue – the Statue of Unity, against the backdrop of the dramatic Satpura and Vindhyachal hills in Kevadia, Gujarat. The 182-metre (600 feet aprox.) statue is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of independent India. The colossal monument towers over River Narmada, a tribute to India ‘from the people of Gujarat’ to the leader who placed people’s welfare first. The Statue of Unity overlooks the vast surrounds and the river basin of the Narmada River and the sprawling Sardar Sarovar dam. It stands on the Sadhu Bet hillock, connected by a 300-metre bridge, which offers access from the mainland to the statue.

As a part of an outreach programme for the project, the state government had asked Indian farmers to donate their used farming equipment to collect iron needed for the statue of Sardar Patel. Eventually, about 5000 tonnes of iron is believed to be collected. Details of the construction and history of the leader can be seen in an in-house museum, inside the statue.
