Mudkhu Bhanjyang Day Hike is the best short hiking experience in Kathmandu. After driving about 20 minutes from Thamel, the hiking begins from Mudkhu Bhanjyang. In a very short time, you will feel the countryside experience. Although it’s a short walk, a tea break will be there. The place is amazing to enjoy the surrounding beauties, mixed of the tradition and modernity, Himalayan views and the remote countryside. The perfect view of the Kathmandu valley can be seen from the view tower along with the greenery. The hike incredibly refreshes you before flying back to your country.

Chandragiri day hiking is one of the best day hiking around at Kathmandu valley. The hiking starts at Hindus Temple at  Matatirtha or Hotel Outlook INN. The clean environment makes you different and you feel relaxed in your mind. Also, you can view the panoramic view of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal range. From outlook Inn hotel the trail leads to Chhap Bhanjyang at 2275m through the small village and forest. You will walk 3 hours steep up a stone staircase to the Chhap Bhanjyang.  Here you will get tea and coffees in a local tea shop. This tea shop only open in season time.  After one hour walking through the forest, you will be in Chandragiri Hill at 2729 m.


From Chandragiri Hill, you can observe spectacular mountains view west to east including Mt. Api, Saipal to Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Dorje Lakpa and Gaurishankar mountains range.

The Nagarkot Day Hike is one of few ways that you can see Mount Everest from within the Kathmandu Valley. This spectacular single day tour leads you to the scenic hilltop village of Nagarkot. At 2195 meters (7201 feet), you are confronted with eye-popping views of the absolute most majestic peaks on the planet.


From the precious terraced hillsides that cascade down the rolling hills, the trail leads to an outstanding mountain viewpoint where the Himalayas seem just an arm’s reach away. From the viewpoint, your panorama expands from Dhaulagiri(8167 meters/26,795 feet) in the west to Mount Everest (8848 meters/29,029) in the east, as well as the magnificent Kanchenjunga (8586 meters/28,169 feet). See three of the highest peaks in the world in one sweeping view.

Mount Elgon is an amazing feature found in the East of Uganda and also shared with Kenya, it is said to be the 4th highest in East Africa standing at 4,321m high, and its an extinct volcano with the main activity of hiking. It is slightly tricky to climb to the top (Wagagai peak), and hence hikers are expected to be fit enough.


The mountain has a number of trails which hikers use to hike up the top. The mountain is also home to the magnificent Sipi falls, gorges, hot springs, caves, also different animal species like the elephants, forest monkeys, small antelopes, buffaloes as well as around 300 bird species..
