An Exciting Trip To Prashar Lake

Himachal Pradesh, also known as the abode of gods, emits an aura of spiritualism that attracts people from far and wide. Situated in the Western Himalayas, this region has been generously bestowed with scenic beauty and charm. This hill station has almost all the elements to be on top of the tourism charts. There is a never-ending list of things to do, sighting experiences and places to visit; so much so that a single article about this state will never be able to do justice.

Prashar Lake is situated at the height of 2730 meters (nearly 9000 feet) in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. The lake and the temple on it are devoted to the sage by the same name. The lake sits at an altitude of 8956 ft and is a natural abode for serenity and scenic beauty; here, you also get to enjoy the beautiful views of Pir Panjal, Dhauladhar and Kinnauri mountain ranges as an incentive.

The lake, in fact, got its name because it houses the three storied pagoda-like temple, dedicated to sage Prashar. It is believed that the sage used to meditate near the bank of this lake, reason why the temple and the lake are named so. The lake situated at such an altitude turns frozen during winter, while it maintains its sparkling beauty throughout the year.
